Carol Woods Clinic
Residents enjoy expert care just steps from their front door. Our on-site clinic provides preventative, chronic and acute healthcare by nurse practitioners, nurses and UNC Healthcare geriatricians. To support whole person care, our team also includes physical, occupational and speech therapists, as well as social workers, dietitians, and a spiritual care coordinator. Your physician and social worker partner with you throughout your time here, getting to know you and what matters most to you, so your care is built around your goals and values.

Fitness
Carol Woods supports active resident living with fitness opportunities that match every ability. From water aerobics and strength training to walking trails, bocce, and croquet, residents enjoy daily movement that builds strength and connection. Our 24-hour fitness center and indoor heated pool offer year-round options for staying active and engaged.


Dining
Carol Woods offers a variety of fresh, thoughtfully prepared meals served in a relaxed, social setting. Residents choose from flexible dining options, including buffet-style service, full table service, and takeout, across several inviting spaces. Menus are reviewed by a registered dietitian and shaped by resident feedback through the Dining Advisory Committee, with attention to dietary preferences (including vegetarian options) and a focus on simple, flavorful ingredients. Importantly, menus and meal variety are consistent across Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing, making Carol Woods truly unique in providing continuity and quality at every level of living.

Even though I’m not youthful, I feel the same energy when I get up and walk around this campus. It’s the constant movement, the sense of vitality. And knowing there are healthy food options—if I make the right choice—adds to that. There are always options.
