Located in Chapel Hill, NC, we offer two options: Central Assisted Living with apartment-style residences near campus amenities, and Garden Assisted Living, a cozy, family-style setting. Both include private accommodations, daily meals, healthcare access, and full integration into the Carol Woods community.

Assisted Living residents enjoy three meals a day with the freedom to dine in any of Carol Woods’ campus dining rooms. Whether joining friends for a meal in the commons or choosing a quieter spot to dine while reading the paper, residents can select what suits their preferences each day. Meals are nourishing, accessible, and shared in a welcoming community setting.

Activities
Assisted Living residents at Carol Woods enjoy a rich variety of programs designed to support connection, creativity, and well-being. From music therapy and seated exercise to gardening, group discussions, and tech-based activities, each offering is tailored to meet residents where they are. Residents are also invited to participate in campus-wide concerts, lectures, and art exhibitions, fostering community and lifelong engagement at every stage.


Pricing
Assisted Living at Carol Woods includes a base monthly fee of $2,657, plus a daily per diem of $102 to cover meals, care, transportation, and activities. Residents receive 15 credit days per year where the per diem is waived. This pricing replaces the standard Independent Living monthly fee upon transition to Assisted Living and reflects the increased level of personalized support provided.
Frequently asked questions
Assisted Living is available to current Carol Woods on-campus and Early Acceptance residents who need help with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, or managing medications. It is not available to those joining the community for the first time. New residents must enter through Independent Living.
Central Assisted Living offers apartment-style residences located in the heart of campus, near amenities like a fitness center, salon, and gallery. Garden Assisted Living provides family-style living with shared common spaces and is designed to support aging in place as care needs evolve.
