Life Enrichment Facilitator

WELL-BEING DEPARTMENT

The Life Enrichment Facilitator supports Assisted Living and the Health Center resident quality of life by facilitating opportunities for meaningful engagement and by creating an environment to support it. This position is responsible for assessing residents’ individualized interests, abilities and needs for satisfying participation in meaningful, enjoyable activities and coordinating events, staff, volunteers, supplies/equipment and other resources to address these needs. This includes MDS assessment and care planning. The Life Enrichment Facilitator also assists with coordinating the volunteer program and training and supporting volunteers.

Requirements:

  • BA or BS degree. Activities Professional, Recreational Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or related experience.
  • Demonstrates respect for older adults as unique individuals and believes they are capable of continued growth and development.
  • Outgoing, pleasant and assertive demeanor. Inspires team spirit.
  • Ability to organize and facilitate interaction among residents, staff, and volunteers (group and one-on-one).
  • Ability to easily engage with people with varied abilities and needs, including residents with cognitive impairment.
  • Willingness to care for plants and pets.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter as well as collaborate with teams.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Full-Time: 40 hours per week including rotating Saturdays and holidays, shared with two other Life Enrichment team members.
