About Chapel Hill & the Triangle
Part of our responsibility as a not-for-profit community is to look beyond our walls and be mindful not only of our needs, but of the needs of the larger community as well. Carol Woods’ commitment to the community is evident in a myriad of waysfrom the thousands of volunteer hours our residents invest in Chapel Hill to our CEO serving as Co-Chair of the Orange County Master Aging Plan Task Force. Carol Woods donates hundreds of thousands of dollars back into the community every year, supporting an adult day program, helping fund a new Senior Center, providing food to the hungry and promoting research into the best ways to meet the challenges of an aging population. Our residents are very involved in the educational life of the community, taking classes at UNC and Duke and tutoring students from local schools. We also take pride in the rich cultural life of the Triangle, and have been longtime supporters of PlayMakers Repertory Company and the NC Symphony.
