 The Health Center houses Carol Woods’ on-site clinic and 60 apartments for residents whose health needs require 24-hour nursing care. Our licensed, Medicare-certified skilled nursing facility has a home-like atmosphere comprised of clusters of five private and one semi-private room, a sitting area and a dining room. Residents enjoy the comforts of their own furniture, photographs, and decor. Refrigerators in each cluster are stocked with healthy snack foods, available to residents any time of day.
Known internationally as a model for innovative, comprehensive health care, Carol Woods prides itself on supporting resident autonomy and maximizing quality of life. Staff develop trusting relationships with residents by working with the same residents every day, and they provide care that is specifically tailored to the physical and emotional needs of each resident.
Life Enrichment staff in the Health Center organize activities such as flower arranging, worship services, trivia and cooking with classes from the Children's Center at Carol Woods. A social worker, pastoral counselor and private pay clinical psychologist help attend to the emotional and spiritual needs of residents in the Health Center. Carol Woods contracts with local hospice agencies so that residents may receive specialized end-of-life care and support. |
